QlikView Document Administrator not authenticating Group membership. Version 12.70.

Hi

We have 2 QlikView Server installations. One version 12.60.2 and one version 12.70.2. Version 12.70 is newly installed from scratch and setup exactly as version 12.60 except from different shares and different hardware.

Same setup. Same domain. Same users. Publisher License Enabled.

QlikView Document and Source Document administrators works fine on version 12.60 installation but NOT on version 12.70 installation. Setup is made like

https://community.qlik.com/t5/Official-Support-Articles/How-to-set-up-Qlikview-Document-Administrato... using AD group membership.

On version 12.70 Group members are not authenticated. If we use individual user and not group authentication then it works fine. On documents using the same AD Group the authentication works fine, so the QMC has fine access for reading the AD Group membership. It is only for the Source Document and Document Administrators AD Group membership is not working.

Anyone with a suggesting where to look for the solution ? Or could it be that the Group Membership bug from version 11.20 has sneaked in again in version 12.70 ?

Snip from above “How to setup QlikView Document Administrators” :

"Note: In QlikView 11.20, you cannot use groups. Membership is restricted to individual users. With QlikView 12.xx groups are fully supported."

Thank you in advance for any comments for a solution on the this 🙂

Hi @Messen,

I'm aware of multiple QlikView customers running version 12.70 and using Document Administrators without any issues, so not sure that there is a defect present. Suggest that you open a case with Qlik Support to investigate more.

Hi @Messen,

Suggest you start by reviewing the QlikView Management Service log configured Debug logging. You may want to open a case with Qlik Support as well.

Hi
Should have included som log lines in my question. Sorry.

Log says :

20230510T134351.451+0200 Information UserIsMemberOfGroupsNoXDomain - User xxx/xxx is not a member of Doc Admin groups
20230510T134351.451+0200 Error Access Denied

Membership of local security groups is missing.

Please refer to the manual for more information.

The Doc Admin group(s) assignet, is the same group(s) assignet for access to QlikView doc in Access Point. And here the Groups are working as expected. Therefore it could be that the bug from 11.20 is present again in version 12.70 ?

Hi @Mats_E ,

is it set to true and not working?
Which version of QlikView Server are you on?
