We are marching right into March! This month, we are featuring another rising star in the Qlik Community. This person is a leader on our weekly and monthly leaderboard. He has posted more than four hundred times and received as many likes. He has earned the rank of Specialist in the Community and is also a member of Qlik Nation. It is with immense pleasure to introduce our March featured member Henrik Almen, AKA henrikalmen.
Henrik’s journey in his own words:
“In 2014, I had a position that included various analysis tasks and database queries. A manager from another department approached me and said something like, “We have this tool, QlikView, that we should use more, and I think you should study it and become our BI Developer - what do you say? Your career will benefit from it when you eventually want to move on from here.”
Naturally, I said yes, then attended a QlikView training course and earned a developer certification. As suggested to me, it was a smart career move.
The Qlik community forum quickly proved to be an incredibly useful resource. It was essential when I started to learn QlikView, and it continued to help me when I transitioned to Qlik Sense. It still supports me after years as a Qlik developer.
I learn so much from reading other people's posts and replies, and I challenge myself by trying to find solutions to tricky issues. I also help by explaining what's happening and/or pointing questioners in the right direction instead of serving them with a solution. Learning something new benefits the user in the long run rather than applying a ready-made solution he or she might not fully understand.
