Upgrading Nprinting from Feb 2020 to May 2023.

Hey community,

I have Nprinting Feb 2020 Installed on the machine and I want to upgrade to May 2023, so is there a way to directly upgrade from Feb 2020 to May 2023 or would I have to upgrade through all the versions in between. Is there any other easy way ?.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I will recommend going step by step if it is Feb 2020 or below as there are some bugs that are solved.

The upgrade will not take time, as only 3 versions are there.

Hi,

A good point to start is reading carefully the help site page related to the upgrade process at https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/May2023/Content/NPrinting/DeployingQVNprinting/Qlik-NPrinting-... and the Release Notes related to the version you want to install. May 2023 has 3 service releases, IR SR1 and SR2. Those are the Release Notes of SR2 with the detailed chapter about update: https://community.qlik.com/t5/Release-Notes/Qlik-NPrinting-Release-notes-May-2023-Service-Release-2/...

Read very well those two documents before starting to avoid mistakes that are already documente.

Best Regards,

Ruggero

@VatsalyaSolanki be sure you take a snapshot of the server before doing anything, so you easily and quickly rollback if you run into any issues!

Hi @VatsalyaSolanki

I disagree with @ajaykakkar93To get bug fixes you dont need to go version by version as later versions contain previous bug fixes.

As @Ruggero_Piccoli rightly pointed out the only thing you need to do is study documentation for the version you want to upgrade to as it will have comprehensive information about required steps.

cheers
