We have been hearing a lot on this from our clients to be able to add their own data to the app for further analysis. Once the app is published to sense server users are able to drag and drop their excel/text files but when they try to reload user will see error due to they don't have access to the QVD's/underlying tables.
we are looking for a solution where if users want to add their own data on top of what they get in a default app that would be great.
Not sure if this is in the agenda for improvement in later releases of sense.
Hi Phaneendra,
Thanks for the feedback. This is something we are thinking about. As you rightly pointed out, there is a technical challenge to reload the data and correctly mixing personal data with corporate data. It is also important to make sure the personal data joins up correctly.

I agree, when user adds his personal data sense/QIX should have a mechanism to validate to remove circular references and synthetic keys.
I am glad that you guys are thinking about all these. I know one day we will have all these in both Qlikview & Sense.
Create a copy of qvf in Documents,
Open the load editor of existing app,
Crate a folder connection to folder where you stored copy of that qvf with name say Docs.
Write following in load sript on first line of first tab
Binary lib://Docs/App.qvf;
LOAD * from [lib://ConnectionName/Folder/File.qvd];
Exit script;
You can change what I wrote in italics and nothing else
may be they can duplicate the apps and create their own folder connections and try loading data from there.
If you can create custom admin role for the users to allow them reload the app and sharing the folder access for the users who need so?
If they have access to shared folders, data connection is already made by developer, they just need to reload their own data and load as an custom admin.
