Dear all,

I have small doubt here.

I can see we have separate connector for ORACLE, OLD DB, ODBC.

Using all of the above I can create the oracle connection and fetch the data. I need to understand what is the difference between these connectors for fetching the data from oracle source. Which one is recommended and why?

Note: Out data source is ORACLE.

Hello ODBC and OLE DB are general purpose connectors, it's really the operating system on which Qlik is installed that manages the connection (you create ODBC connection on OS and then you call it from Qlik)
Oracle connector in Qlik is a specific connector developed and managed by Qlik to connect to oracle data source

it's also the optimized way to connect to oracle from qlik. this applies on all other specific connectors provided by qlik: sql server, snowflake...

So in our case as we are having all data from ORACLE source we should use ORACLE connector instead of using OLD DB/ OLDB, is this correct?

It will be really helpful if you provide in what condition OLEDB/ODBC must be used.

Hello, there's no rule really,  you can use the connector as you like, it's only advised to use the specific oracle connector instead of the odbc.

odbc connectors are provided as a legacy for all data sources it used to be the only type of connection available in Qlikview, once a connector is released by Qlik it's preferred and more advantageous to use the specific.
specific connectors in general are more optimized this means better performances and less issues with data formats also you don't have to install drivers on your OS.
theoretically only use ODBC when you don't have specific connector for your data source.
