Upgrading QV Desktop to QV Named User CAL

Hi,

I'm trying to build QVS-dev server, and I'll build Production one after that because I want to build Production QVS clean.

And I have a question about activation, means upgrading QV Desktop to QV Named User CAL.

We can set "activation server" into QV Desktop file menu.

Which server (Dev/Pro) should I set into QV Desktop as activation server?

hello

you activate license lease on prod sever

and use open from server on the desktop on which you want to have a Names User Cal used

Once the PROD server is set up and licensed, you can go to QlikView Desktop > Settings > User Preferences > Locations > Default License Lease Server (URL) and set qvp://prodservername there.

I see, it means that sharing .qvw files requires not QVS-Development but QVS-Production, doesn't it?

Correct. Test licenses do not lease licenses, so users would be able to connect but not to open the files using QlikView Desktop
