Hi all,
is it possible to arrange and resize the objects dynamically in QlikView. For example, if we were to hide one button, the other buttons would use the space instead of leaving a gap there.
and what about when using AJAX?
Thanks.
I was searching for the same problem and I found that it is not available in Qlikview.. Hopefully Qlikview will address it in the coming version.
Hi,
The only way I have got around this is to use show/hide functionality on the buttons to fill the space with larger buttons when the first button is hidden.
The downside to this is that you are creating two sizes of the same button.

Neil
In my opinion, this is one of the more significant shortcomings of Qlikview. For example, there is almost no ability to set object sizes as a % of screen size, and have it sense the screen size, and adjust accordingly. It does seem to be aware that it is running (in most cases) within a browser. The whole concept of styling via CSS is lacking.
Adjusting to form factors (size of screen) is native to the new Qlik Sense product. It has a more modern look and feel and is very suitable for different screen sizes, mobile devices etc.... Its not QlikView as you had asked but Qlik is aware of this need and invested in it through Qlik Sense.
Thanks Jonathan for that input. I really hope that Qlik looks to either integrate the two products (QV and Sense) in the near future, or port the dynamic sizing / sensing concept into QV. They obviously understand HOW to do it, as it appears to work quite well in Sense.
