Install Qlikview Server Windows Server 2008

I'm working with QlikView Server in a Windows 2003 server.

We will now migrate to windows 2008.

Is there any difference in the installation of QlikView Server on Windows 2008?

Hi there,

The only thing that you need to be aware of is that a lot of funcitonality can be off by default on Windows 2008 and you need to enable it.  This may just be .Net 3.5.1 that needs enabling, however if you are running QlikView on IIS (which I would not recommend) then you need to ensure that all the required components are installed and enabled before installing QlikView.

Obviously, you need to ensure that if you are moving from a 32bit platform to a 64bit one that you have the correct installation file.

Apart from that the installation is as straight forward as on previous versions of the OS.

one additional hint:

Be aware that a firewall is integrated in Windows 2008, when first installing Qlikview Server I would just deactivate the firewall first and then (after successfull installation of QV server) re-activate the firewall again step by step ...
