Input Box - Not able to enter value in input box in Qlikview

Hi All,

As per our requirement  we are using a variable vMin in the Input box.

This vMin variable is defined with an expression =floor(rangemax(Min({<Currency=P({$}Currency),$(vPrice)={">0"}>}$(vPrice)*[Exchange Rate]),10000),1000)

Based on any selections , the vMin value is changing , but its not allowing to enter any value in this Input box

When we click on the Input box to enter some value, it is showing the above expression as attachment.

Please help me to understand that can we enter any value in this Input box even it contains some expression

Else it doesn't allows us to enter any value.

If it not allows any value that's ok, but it never show the expression as like in the attachment when we click on the input box.

When you click on the value in the input box QlikView will display the expression, since the variable is holding an expression. If you enter for example 250 as a value, the expression will be repolaced with that value.

What would you like to have happened in the input box?= What is it that you want to achieve?

Thanks for reply.

When I click on the input box field , it not allowing to enter any value immediately shows the expression

The expression will be displayed yes, but then you should be able to replace the expression by entering a new value.

It’s not allowing to enter the number.

How is it not allowing? Is it impossible to enter anything at all or does the value revert back to the expression when pressing enter? Have you checked the settings for the input box on the Constraints tab in the input box properties?

It’s not allowing to enter value. When we click on the box , it shows the used expression and we  press enter it shows the same value generated by expression.

Yes, checked the properties but no use of them in our case.

Maybe I misunderstand, but you say "we press enter". Are you first entering your new value and then pressing enter? Because that should work. Have you tried checking "Enable Edit Expression Dialog" in properties for the input box, and then used the expression editor to enter a new value?

If none of this works, and you don't have any input constraints in the properties of the input box I don't know what's going on. Have you tried creating a new input box with the same variable just to try with another object? Also try a new input box with a new variable just to make sure that works.

Thanks for your quick response.

Enter means by clicking on the input box (to enter some value) it shows the used expression.
moving cursor from that place to another and then either click mouse or enter in keyboard , it shows the previous value

Yes, created  new input box with and without using any expression

without expression, it allowed

of course , it did all checks in the properties of input box, but I’m not succeeded

Sounds strange indeed. Unfortunately I'm out of ideas now.
