How to schedule time for the qvd generator

Hi,

How to schedule time for the qvd generator for refreshing data based on scheduling time ..

please help me to get this ?

Dear Shobha,

     There are 2 ways.

     1. By Qlikview server, which has the best GUI to set the scheduling of reports and qvd generators.

     2. you use the Windows Scheduler, to run the QlikView and reload the application.

     Using QlikView server is the best option as a management and tracking is concern.

hi,

In QVMC

1)System>setup >folder> root folder path(your sale.qvw dashboard path).

System>setup >folder>Mounted folder path(your Qlikview generator path means generator.qvw)  .       

2) Document>user documents> select your generator.qvw>select Reload and give time under reload

There are so many post on community for the same, but first you need to understand the windows scheduling and for which google is the best option.

Hi Sobha,

Kaushik is right. QV Server is the best option.

If you have QMC on any of your server, you can do it there itself. While creating tasks from Source Documents (Documents >> Source Documents >> QVD Generator QVW), you can set Trigger.

On Trigger tab, you can select On A Schedule>> Hourly/Daily/Weekly/Monthly and set the periods, as per your requirement. Then the QVW file be reloaded at that particular period.
