How to export data from a qvw file to another database (Firebird, Access, SQL...)

Hello everybody,

I have a qvw file whose data I need to open in another database program. The intermediary format does not matter that much to me (it could be firebird/access, even excel...); important to me is that I get all the data from the file.

Thank you very much!

Mat

Hi kellermeister,

you could use the Export-Action/Trigger. You can choose the desired fields there, export to file etc.
Try this feature to create an intermediary csv or txt file.

Dear Joachim,

thank you for your support.

I found out how to look at and export from "expression overview" and I can see all my items in the "Table Viewer" so at least I already know what I'm searching for - but I can't find the Export-Action/Trigger.

Under File->Export there is an item "Export Content" but it is grayed out. Do I need to select the data first?

Thank you very much.

Create a button, then in Properties goto tab "Actions", there you can Add an action, select "External" as Action Type and "Export" as Action and confirm.

Then you have a "Setup" button on the right where you can choose your options ..

Hi Joachim,

that looks promising! It worked on a few lines.

It's an 18 MB file though - and when I select all fields for the export Qlik freezes after a while (and doesn't produce a file). I'll play with it for a little longer.

Thanks for the help,

Mat
