Help Needed !Selecting Corresponding Year with a Particular Month!

I have a sales data Datewise and while creatig an application i used these two expressions "=Yearname([Orderdate])" & "=Month([orderdate])" to segregate the data Year and Month wise. But now when i am selecting Months say Jan , Feb etc it is showing me data of all the years from 2009-2012. But i want to see for a particular year (2009)and particular month(say Jan) but not for all the years. Is there any way i can corelate these two prameters so that i can view data for a particular year and month?
You can create a monthyear field from your date field: monthname(OrderDate) as MonthYear. You can use that instead of Month if you want a specific month from a specific year.
Or you could simply select both a year and a month.
