QlikView Licensing after uppgrade

I am currently running QlikView Server 12.2 and am looking at upgrading to 12.6. I spoke with a rep last year about the new licensing model and we did not need any more licenses, so we still have our old Personal Licenses and Session CALs. Do we still get to use the licenses we have if I upgrade my server?

Hello @A_Liz ,
Thanks for posting.

If you just upgrade the current license will work as long as you are compliance with the maintenance - please do review this information Maintenance contract on upgrade ‒ QlikView

Also if upgrading do please review:

https://community.qlik.com/t5/Knowledge/A-QlikView-Upgrade-Guide/ta-p/1713389

We always recommend testing extensively in a dedicated pre-productive environment.

Cheers!

Hi @A_Liz,

You can use the Manual LEF Checker, which will allow you to check the validity of your QlikView Server license. Enter your 16-digit license and then check the PRODUCTLEVEL;10;;YYY-MM-DD provision.  The important part is the date at the end, which is described in the Help entry Albert provided you - Maintenance contract on upgrade ‒ QlikView.  This date signifies the "supported to date" for maintenance.  As long as your maintenance is up to date (the YYYY-MM-DD portion of the LEF), then you'll be able to upgrade the QlikView Server with this license.

Hope this helps
