Tabular reporting in managed spaces is here!

Let's break this down a bit...

It is a report task and report template creation capability for apps in managed space.  It is not a dev ops enabled tabular reporting flow

Within an Qlik Sense App in a managed space - report developers can create report tasks, create filters and upload templates.   

For the distribution list

  • The distribution list data source instructions must be created in the source app (shared or personal space).  This is due to the load script instructions that remain when the app is published to the managed space.
  • You will configure the same distribution list data source reference in the managed space - of course, the actual referenced list of recipients that are contained in the connected source can be different. 
  • The key progression is
    1. Publish the app
    2. Configure target distribution list data source for the managed space
    3. Trigger a reload load of the published app with production data and the desired distribution list.

For template authoring

  • You can either author from the Qlik add-in for Microsoft Excel connecting directly to the managed space app.  In this scenario you can just upload the templated once ready to the managed space app.
  • You can also author against the shared/personal space version of the app - validate - and then create a copy of the template and use the add-in to change the connected app to the managed space version before uploading to the managed space app.
