Scheduled Task Fails Without Reason when Loaded Automatically

Hi,

The scheduled tasks are failing when they are ran from the Task scheduler. The QVW's loads fine when I open it up with the desktop on the same server where Qlikview server is installed. There is not an error as to why the task failed. Any ideas what I have setup incorectly? This is a new install of Qlikview server on a Windows. Task log is below.

Thank You

Hi,

The task log just shows if the task finished with error or not.

For specific errors, you'll need to check the document log file by checking the following:

sample.png

Weird behaviour as you say it loads fine while reloading from desktop version.

Could you post the document log file?

Regards,

Felipe.

Hi Dick,

From the task log you posted, we can see the below error:

4/20/2018 11:27:36.1061172 Error The task "Spec_Tests.qvw" failed. Exception: || QDSMain.Exceptions.TaskFailedException: Task execution failed with errors to follow. ---> QDSMain.Exceptions.ReloadFailedException: Reload failed --->

So as Felipe posted, you need to ensure that Document logging is enabled Spec_Tests.qvw. Doing so will provide you with error logging for the failure. Like Felipe stated, if you can post the document log, or at least a snippet of the log showing what the failure is, we may be able to find the root cause.

If the successful run from QV Desktop is occurring from a separate computer than the server, the issue could be driver related.

Also, as the reload is successful if run from QV Desktop, but not when run from QVS/Publisher, a good test would be to logon to a computer using the same account which is running the QlikView Distribution Services account and run the reload from QV Desktop again. This test will show if the issue is permissions related.

Hope this helps,

Once I enabled the document logging there was a great deal more detail. The error ended up being I installed one of the database drivers from a network install. This was causing an issue with the reload engine. I installed the database driver locally and everything seems to be working fine now. Thanks.
