Using Maps in Qlikview

Morning All..

Our Organisation recently bougt a licenced qlikview edition..

Therefore as a new Qlikview developer , i am intrested in using Maps as one of the chart type.

Can some please post the very basics of using these extension objects\Object type in Qlikview

Questions i have is precisely:

1. in QV12, how do we add extensions and use them.. may be a detailed document would help.

2.If i want to show a list of given destinations in a world map, how can i build it in Qlikview.

3.What is API's, Extensions and diffrence between them and how to use them.

1. Extensions are mostly ZIP files, once you unzip them, copy that folder to

Local--C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\QlikTech\QlikView

Server--C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServer\Extensions

Different types of mapping extensions

SVG (Free Dev/Prod)

Google Cluster, Bubble Map (Free only in Dev/In Prod you need to buy the API from Google)

Qlik Maps (Paid)

GeoQlik (Trial/Paid)

It depends on what you want to show and what data you've

Some maps take Latitude & Longitude as DataSet Point and SVG takes 4 digit CODES I guess and SVG has static maps with their extension and it is a Polygon map. While Google is Points map.

Paid map versions comes both with Polygon/Points, other features too.

Thanks Aehman for the update.

I tried downloading the .qar files.

Once downloaded it says 4files installed in Directory, however i dont see any files installed in this path:

Local--C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\QlikTech\QlikView.

Also, The way i want to show is

Destination, Sales

BLR - 100

AUH - 130

FRA - 191

JFK - 245

BKK-198

Want to the see the cluster size and cluster color change based on the range.

I tried downloading the .qar files and it says 4 files installed.

However i donot see any files in the path:Local--C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\QlikTech\QlikView

Is there any .qvw file that you can share with cluster maps in Qliview 12 edition.

I tried viewing the qvw files with maps posted in web view mode, but no success.

Request  your help to get this sorted out.

The files would not automatically download in the location C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\QlikTech\QlikView.

You have to copy paste to that location in order to use the extension. Plus you can only ee extensions in QlikView in WebMode.

The requirement you have can be done by Google Cluster Map but paste the unipped files in that location and u webmode in Qlikview.
