A Data Modelling in Qlikview Can be Defined as a Pictorial Representation of Tables Present in the data with their Associated Relationships to show the Data Flow Process of the whole System or model,it also helps in representing the Key fields and Data Dependency Factors that Helps in Normalization and simplification of data Structure.

Data Modeling is a combination of fact and dimension? and it is part of schema?..

yes ,we either use star schema or else we use snow flake schema, but we normally end's up with the snow flake schema.the reason for that is to avoid data redundancy and to make data more normalised.

Yes it is combination of dimension tables linked to a fact table . It is recommended to end up with a star schema which has got the ideal trade off on the resources..

look at the following post  may be it can help you further

Hi

It is your choice really.  You as a developer construct the data model as per the application requirement.

Snowflake is generally used to limit duplicate data which is irrelevant in Qlikview's case as it automatically eliminates duplicates by design. if a value is repeated, it only stores once.

In Qlikview, Star schema is an ideal choice.

Hello Prachi,

For me data modeling is creating links between tables based on business reasoning. If you can't explain the business logic for a link between two tables you likely have a problem with your technical data model setup. I've created a Key Check module (script subroutine + set of frontend objects) to easily check some basic business questions.

Hope you find it usefull.

Have fun Qlik'n, Koen
