Formatting number label as B for billion instead of default 'G'

Hi,

I am displaying large amounts in a bar chart. The labels show as 500M, 1G (Billion), 1.5G ( 1.5 Billion). I would like it to look like 500M, 1B, 1.5B.

Basically change Billion symbol from 'G' to 'B'

Thanks

Hi Ade,

you would change it on the Number Tab of your chart - Million Symbol, Billion Symbol:

You don't get those options in Sense.

I cannot see where you change the defaults used by the Auto Number formatting.

This is from the Bar Chart help, so it looks like it is working as designed!

Different options for formatting the measure values. If you want to change the number format at app level, and not just for a single measure, it is better to do that in the regional settings, that is, in the SET statements at the beginning of the script in the data load editor.

Auto: Qlik Sense automatically sets a number formatting based on the source data.

To represent numeric abbreviations, the international SI units are used, such as k (thousand), M (million), and G (billion).

Number: By default, the formatting is set to Simple, and you can select the formatting from the options in the drop-down list. Click the  button to change to Custom formatting, and use the Format pattern box to  change the format pattern.

can I somehow change it at application level (similar to 'SET ThousandSep=',';' in data load script).

or can I somehow make all big number format as million (say 1,500M, instead of 1.5G).

Thanks
