Not to worried, figured it out.

I set up a Variable in Qlik called vDropdown

Then used the Variable extension. -

set Variable name as: vDropdown

selected Show as: Drop Down

Under values:

Set values as: Dynamic

and put the formula as

=concat(distinct FieldName, '|')   

with Fieldname being the list of values you wanted
