A couple follow-up questions..

Are there plans to get rid of the personal edition of Qlikview similar to how it was recently announced that Qliksense desktop will no longer be free to use?

Do any of the planned updates for Qlikview include front end/design features?

Is there a place on Qlik Community for users to request Qlikview features similar to how Qliksense has the "Qlik Sense Enterprise Ideas" topic?

Is the plan to eventually get Qliksense to the point where it is just as flexible out of the box with Guided Analytics as Qlikview is or do you think there will always be the distinction of Qlikview being ideal for Guided Analytics and Qliksense for Self Service?

1. No current plans to deprecate QV personal edition. We love it and we intend to keep it.

2. We add things based on demand and are currently not looking to add front-end or design features in QlikView. We are considering other features such as perhaps adding SAML support as there is strong demand for that. QVD encryption support was recently checked into the main line too.

3. Yes, Qlik Sense is getting more capabilities under the "Advanced authoring" umbrella to get it closer to the demands from QlikView community. However, given that responsive design and mobile friendliness is a major driver for Qlik Sense, some things are not possible to just replicate. For e.g. I do not think we can find a good solution for layering visualizations effectively.

1. That is good to hear. I am also quite fond of the personal eddition of Qlikview.

In regards to the recent news about Qliksense desktop, are there plans to have licensing options geared more towards individuals?
Even if it can't be free it would be nice if there was at least a version of Qliksense for individual/personal use that doesn't require using the cloud or setting up a Qlik enterprise server to use it.

2. Qliksense has a dedicated forum on Qlik Community for users to request and vote on features where Qlikview seemingly does not so I am curious how demand for Qlikview features is currently being determined/measured.

3. Yeah, I understand how the responsive nature could make layering objects difficult/impossible.

Also, thank you for taking the time to respond to my questions.
