hi Guyys,
I want to copy a Sheet from one Qvw with its Background Image and paste to another Qvw and Background image need to be same..
kinldy tell me it is possible.. Because i m able to copy and Paste Object but not the Background Image
Hi,
Sheet properties --> General --> Theme Maker allows you to create a theme (included background).
Then, in new document, you create a new sheet and then Apply Theme (Sheet properties --> General) and choose the just created theme.
This help you with background. For the objects, you can copy/paste.
Let us know.

As an alternative, make a copy of the original document (it probably has some useful styles for objects, texts, buttons and other UI elements as well) and throw away everything you don't need. Add a title sheet and optionally an intro sheet. Turn the script into a standard placeholder, so that in the future everybody knows how to organise QlikView script code. Save this almost-empty document as a template QVW.
You need to do this only once, but it will offer a jump-start for all subsequent QVD-development.

when i m pasting on new qvw.. its not showing the background as well object.. can u send me the Screen shot .. step by step how to do this
In QlikView there is no method to copy a sheet or its background to another document. You can duplicate sheets in the same document, but you cannot transfer sheets to the outside.
Also, backgrounds cannot be recovered from the sheet on which they are displayed. On import, QlikView does a few conversions and throws the original picture/fileformat away. One-way only
You can however, copy an image of the sheet from which you want to lift the background (on an emptu area of the sheet, rightclick your mouse and select "Copy Image to Clipboard"), and paste the clipboard into a bitmap editor (like Paint). There you can save the picture into a few different bitmap formats for later reuse in another QVW document.
Best,
Peter
Yes, pasting objct pastes only objects.
To ""copy"" the background you have to follow the steps I wrote.
On the qvw where you have the backgound:
Go to Sheet properties --> there is a button "Theme maker", go next, New Theme (<none> in the list), then next. choose a location, then write as filaname "myBackground", then Save. Click next then choose checking what you want to export in new theme (mind Sheet Background!!), then next. Choose one of two option in the tab, then End.
On the qvw where you want to have the background:
Go to Sheet properties --> there is a button "Apply Theme", choose the myBackground.qvt file then choose Open.
Now you will have your background.

I agreed with Peter, it's not a real copy. It's possible to export a theme and apply it to a new or existing doc (background included).
