clearing variables data in inputbox throuh a button click

Hi,

What my requirement is ,.

Is it possible to Clear the variables data in a inputbox through a button click of a qlikview file?????

Here you find the clarity of my problem:

I have a inputbox with two variables like ( "var1" and "var2" ) and i have a button .

Now i want the above requirement....

If possible let me know.......

thats easy, create a button, use actions, external, set variable, enter the name of your variable and nothing in the values!

Love this, but this seems to only work if the value entered in the input box is manual. For me, I have a drop down list that appears in the inputbox selector. How does one create a clear all in this situation?  I've tried the examples above, but they don't seem to work in this situation.

the solution works also with a dropdown and predefined values. But not if you use constraints (like only predefined values allowed). In this case, you have to define what a "reset" should be and set the reset value in button action.

I reused an idea by Rakesh (http://community.qlik.com/message/123369) and just added an additional action to clear the variable.

thanks for the reply.ur example is working..but id nt know how to use that to effect in my application.

i've copied the 2 macros to my application & set the run macros as well...added the dummay tab also in the script.but how do i link the macro to my input box....wat to do with the variable i'm using.
