Sorting problem in pivot table

Hello,

i want to do sorting in pivot table according to third dimension only

dim1, dim2, dim3

i want to do sorting with dim3 only not with dim1,dim2.

I have checked sorting to dim3 in sort tab and unchecked in dim1 and dim2.

but its not sorting down??

and according to requirement i cannot change order of dimensions

For That go to "sort" tab there select dimension which one you want to sort then check "override group sort order" and sort whatever you want.

Lavi,
Pivot table is always sorted by 1st dimension. That said, the sort order may be defined by expression, which you can be, in your case
=dim3

If its s disabled means "sort by" option is abled to access so sort there.

If "sort by" option is disabled means thath time only we need "override group sort order"

Just try it

sorry I didn't understood your last post. I wanted to say that i cannot see check box of "override group sort order". So how can i tick it??

hi lavi,

do one thing, in the sorting tab, just promot your dim3 to top. bcoz, it performs sorting only on the dimension, which is on top of the list in the sort tab.

try it once..

thanks but Can u see promote option in the above screenshot?.

In pivot table you cannot promote dimensions so i cannot try your suggestion. Its available in straight table.
