I need to spec out a QV server to run the current applications with some room for expansion for future.
At present
- I have one very huge application ~5GB foot print and 30 sheets. All the sheets are very complex and have multiple expressions in every pivot table(with multiple pivot table per sheet).
- We are on an AMD server 4 core with 16 GB ram.(This is an old decommissioned DB server).
- The system performance is very bad. Sheet to sheet is approximately 2-3 minutes
- <5 users
Future
- I will have the same huge app(5GB)
- I will have additional 7-10 Apps each < 1GB.
- Could be 25 users with <10 concurrent
- New server
What I know is
Need to have INTEL server (unless AMD fixed the bug)
128 (or 256?) RAM
Would someone help out with the server spec?

- Q1. Number of Users/ concurrent
- Q2. Number of Application
- Q3. Largest Application
- Q4.Smallest Application
- Q4. AVG App size
- Q5. DB size (DB Size in GB, total tables & records per table)
- Q6.Server Processor Brand
- Q7 Processor #of Cores
- Q8. RAM
- Q9 Load frequency and have incremental load
