How to put different selections per sheets

Hello,

I'm new on QlikView and I need your help for something.

I have different sheet on my project. I have different report on both and i would like to  be able to select a date on the first sheet and to select another date on the second. But I want to keep the selection on the first.

I explain:

- On my first sheet for examplek, I want my reports to refeer on the month APRIL;

- On my second sheet I need my reports to refeer on MAY;

- I want to be able to select the month on both sheets so i can't put 'APRIL' in the properties of the sheet.

- Finally I want to keep lock my first sheet on 'april' (or another month) while i'm selecting 'May' (or another month) on the second.

I read many things on this topic but everytime it shows how to fix the selection on the properties of the sheet, but I need to be free to select what I want independently on every sheets.

Is that possible?

Thanks

Tristan

Yes, look into Alternate States. You can create one alternate state called "Current Month" and apply that state to your first 3 sheets. Then create a second Alternate State called "Prior Month" and apply that to all the other sheets.

Hello Tristan,

It is not how QlikView works, but it is definitely possible.

Check the example file here (Sheets) that uses bookmarks to keep selections for each sheet.

Hi,

What if you create same field for Month in the script and name it different from the first field. What I meant by that is

LOAD

FieldA as Month

,FieldA as Month_Copy

from Source;

Then in the UI you  place each fields into different sheet and the selection in 1 field will not be transfer to another sheet.

try tis way,

1. create two sheets(sheet 1 and sheet2)

2. sheet1: sheet properties---

2. sheet1.PNG

3. sheet2: sheet properties--- like baove image just put search string as May.

You should be able to use Alternate States for this. Just create a different alternate state for each sheet, then assign all objects in that sheet to use that sheet's alternate state. The filters on each sheet will just affect those objects and not affect any of the other sheets.

Isn't alternate states the simplest solution here?

Thanks for your answer,

The problem with that is the following:

I need to export my sheets as PDF. Then I need in my 3 first sheets to be on May 2015 and on my 3 other sheets to be on April 2014.

So it's not a problem of navigate from one sheet to another but to have, at the time to export, different selections for my 3 first pages and my 3 others.

What I would like is like:

- A "Time selection' on my first sheet where i can select May 2015 and that would apply this selection to my 3 first sheets.

- A second 'Time selection' in my 4th sheet where i can select April 2014 and that would apply it to my other sheets.

Finally, be able to print all my sheets (or put it into PDF) everything as i said over.

Is that possible with one of the answers?
