How to combine several timeseries data to a single point in time.

Hello,

I'm working with several timeseries data that I would like to combine on a single date to create a cross-sectional view of the data on a bar chart for instance or a scatter plot.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Thank you,

Jessica

Hi Jes,

Please could you attach a sample app with some data, so I can have a look and suggest a solution?

Yes, but do you know how to save and send these workbooks?  I haven't been able to figure this out yet.  Thank you!

Hi,

It´s sounds like if you need a Master Calendar. You can find several examples searching in this forum.

I'm not sure if that's what I need.  I have three timeseries for GDP data by state that I would like to view for only the most current period across the states in a bar chart.   Is there a way to combine the three series and truncate the data to a single date?

Thank you,

Jessica

Now this sounds like you need a Canonical Calendar.

Hi Jes,

You can click on File---> Save as with 'Test.QVW' on desktop or other location where you prefer and then you can reply to this thread by clicking on advanced Editor link where you will be able to upload the Test.QVW file by opening the location in the dialog box and click on reply, so it will be posted.

Also if the file size is massive, then you can create any list box on any field like date or month and select few values and then go to File---> Reduce data----> Keep possible values and save as Test.QVW and it will have less file size and easy to upload as well.

It turned out to be much simplier-  I just plotted all of the series onto a bar graph and filtered by date....:)  Thank you.

Hi Jes,

That's good, also this link gives you more detailed understanding of the process.
