Count Distinct on Qlikview not showing the same number as Excel?

Hey guys,

SO I am creating a dashboard and my data for some reason is not showing up how it shows up on Qlikview. So I have a Customer ID category and I want to unique IDs with no duplicates. When I remove duplicates on Excel and do a distinct count on Customer IDs, the Qlikview number ends up being like 2 or 4 units off from the Excel number.

for example, excel would shpow 4402 and Qlikview will show 3998. Is there any look-fors and suggestions as to what I may be the issue?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

That's hard to tell without looking at your data.

Have you ensured that data values are trimmed on excel side?

You can also use create a list box in QlikView, export all values and copy the list of values to Excel.

Then make a lookup of your original distinct Excel values and find the values not showing up in QV.

Maybe this gives a hint why these values are removed from the count.

Hi,

Compare result sets in excel and vlookup category ids, find the missing ones and look at the applicable rows in both Qlikview and Excel and see if there are any differences in the data.

Use Rownum to find the missing records. Hope this will help you.
