Copy/Paste doesn't work - Copy/Paste No funciona

Hi all,

In all times developing in QV(since 3 years), i had this fool issue: Sometimes, copy/paste simply doesn't work.

I've tried with ctrl+c ctrl+v, right mouse button, menu... in W7, Wxp, Wserver 2005, 2008...  in laptop, pc, terminal...  but it just happens sometimes.

Do everyone has this situation?

Probé con ctrl+c ctrl+v, botón derecho del mouse, menú...  en W7, Wxp, Wserver 2005, 2008.. en una laptop, pc's, terminal...  pero simplemente pasa.

This is surprising. 11.20 SR10. To help you on your issue, May I know which objects are not getting copy/paste ?

Thanks Advait for your answers, but it happens in ALL VERSIONS.

Sorry if i can't explain better and my english is not good, but the problem is not with objects, the problem is with simply TEXT.

For example, copying the TEXT of an expression to another one, or a TEXT of the caption of a textbox to notepad, or a TEXT of one excel cell to a name of dimmention in the script....

It happens in QV9, 10, 11.00, 11.20, 11.20 SR1, SR2, SR10... Windows 7, 8, 8.1....

This was caused due to the windows update. Uninstall KB3000850 and KB3014442 windows updates and restart your machine. This should cure it.

After a lot of investigation, a test laptop and several builds, we have found the issue with our build is the service EDPA that comes with McAfee.

This EDPA service has been turned on by the firm to monitor data through the clipboard.

If you stop the EDPA service so that EDPA does not run, Copy/Paste works fine in Qlikview, if you start the EDPA service, Copy/Paste stops working in Qlikview unless you Copy twice or more times.

Another way to stop this service is to keep ending task on EDPA.exe in task manager, until it stops reloading. This can take 30 or 40 end tasks, then rename the following file to something else.

"C:\Program Files\Symantec\Endpoint Agent\edpa.exe"

This then stops the service from ever running as the .exe file is not found.

For us however, EDPA is a requirement in the firm so we have to keep it running and put up with the Copy/Paste problems cause by EDPA, but we know why its happening, so put up with it.

Unfortunately, i haven't McAffe, and i haven't the EDPA.exe proccess...

Now, I have Windows10 with Avira, and It still happening.

This was an issue for us in SR7. This works fine in SR12 with all the windows updates. There are no specific references we came across and therefore had to experiment with it ourselves as this copy/paste stopped working after a certain date at that time.

Hi Folks,

Even i have the same issue,  i have to copy the text or any script more than twice to get copied only in qv script, which is annoying.

using the latest  version 12 SR4 on windows 7.

Please let me know what is causing this issue.
