Connect with HTML source

Dear All ,

Could you please provide me possible solution to implement below requirements :

  • There is a Dashboard created in our QlikView Server by a user and they use HTML file as a data source which gets updated manually on a daily basis by 5-6 colleagues , the problem is - HTML file is located on a shared drive to which QlikView server does not have access to . How can we connect to the data directly and the Dashboard gets updated data on a daily basis ?

  • There is a forum (a web link ) – users comments on this forum , how can we get these comments get reflected in my Dashboard directly ?

Regards,

Adarsh

Hi Adash,

if you want to connect to an HTML source, the .html (.htm) file needs to be accessible by QlikView Server (or, better, by the user that runs the services). I think you don't have any chance to retrieve data from a drive where QVS cannot access, but it's the same if you could to extract data from a csv, xls, txt, xml in a folder not accessible for QVS.

You could try to publish it on a virtual folder of IIS and then retrieve it directly calling the URL of the page, but some considerations about security of the informations contained on the page must be done.

Hi Simone,

Thanks a lot for replying !

If the file can be placed on a SharePoint  , is it possible we can provide the access of that SharePoint document  to the Qlikview server and can access it in this way ?

You're welcome,

I think that if QlikView user has permission to access to Sharepoint, you could be able to do this.

Simone
