Built an expression in a chart and wanted to sort on an expression

I have built an expression within a chart.  I wanted to sort the expression based on an expression as well but when I go to the sort tab the sort by expression is greyed out.  I am guessing you have to build it somewhere on the expression itself but I am not seeing that option anywhere.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Does your chart have two or more dimensions? If so, try the dimension that's used for the x-axis.

It is a chart that is in a table format.  There really isn't an x-axis to work with.

If it's a straight table then you should be able to move the expression itself to the top of the list of columns on the sort tab. Expression columns can't be sorted by expressions though. You can use one of the dimensions if you want to use a different expression to sort the chart using the Sort by Expression option.
