Hi Sunil,

Some "old" stuff but proved invaluable to me when starting out.

Ralph Kimball: The Data Warehouse Toolkit, editor Wiley.

He describes simply and with many examples how to build star schemas. His aim was to have thsi done in RDBMS' with sql but his modeling principles can be applied to anything. I only did OLAP before getting on to qv and for both the lessons are fine. read the book and you'll be dreaming about star schemas Smile

the link is to a 2nd edition which I can't vouch for as I have the original and haven't seen the second one.

Another great ressouce which was useful for me was Larry Greenfield's web site which covered many aspects of BI projects. At the time the buzzwords were Data Warehousing and that is the title of Larry's site now which gathers together essays many of which were written in the mid 90s. http://www.dwinfocenter.org/

The final ressource that I'd recommend are articles by Nigel Pendse. he used to write something called the OLAP report. His site was a pay for service but some of it was free. here we are getting furher away from data modeling but in all makes for a rounded approach to BI in general.

hope this helps
