Adding a unique identifier field to dataset

Hi, hoping someone can help. I have a very large dataset (12.5 million rows) and I'm looking to add a new field as a unique identifier/primary key. Due to the size, I'm having trouble opening it with Excel. I've already got it hooked up to a QV dashboard and I'm just wondering whether there is anyway to add this new identifier field within the script?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Matt

Use the load on load function to load an additionall field to an existing table.

However, Is this key a new field or is it derived from the data set (the 12.5 mio rows)?
