Change physical QlikView servers (qvs) to virtual ones

Hi,

We are planing to upgrade our QlikView servers(qvs) from physical to virtual, and was wondering if there is a whitepaper and/or upgrade document for physical to Virtual for the Qlikview server(QVS)?.

Today we have our other servers/services QMS, DSC ,QDS etc... on virtual servers and it works fine.

We have always had our QlikVew servers physical due to recommendation set many years ago, however have anyone gone thru the change to use VM instead?

I know that is all due to load, and we have heavy load on the servers (one app is over 60GB that is stored into the memory) however the utilization and "talk" that QVS needs to be on physical environments due to it communicates with the hardware directly, is that still a  "argument point" for physical server to be used?

How have you guys done?🤔

Hi @Sahal ,

years ago we might have discouraged installing the QVS on virtual machines, but it's no longer the case, as long as you refer to the guidelines we provide.
