Can we split load to multiple publishers

Hi

We are modifying our Qlikview Infrastructure.

Need to upgrade from Physical servers to Virtual machines in our project.

In this case, Could anyone help if we can split the load to multiple publishers?

Hi @sangeetha_changu,

You can use QlikView Publisher Distribution Groups to pin reload /distribution tasks to a specific Publisher node. See Qlik Knowledgebase article QlikView Distribution Group - How to Set up a more granular and unbalanced QlikView Publisher Cluste...for more details.

Hi @Chip_Matejowsky

The knowledge base does not really answer these questions (Might be in other knowledge base documents, but not in this):

  • Does the QPDG controll the amout of tasks(QVBs) that can be started at the same time?
  • Is the QPDG needed if you have unbalanced(not the same amount of RAM and CPU) servers?

Hi @Sahal,

So seems you're asking additional questions that what you did in your original post. The best documentation for you to review would be Scaling the QlikView Publisher, I believe. QPDG provides the ability to pin reloads to specific Publisher nodes. So if you have an unbalanced Publisher cluster, you can pin resource heavier tasks to the more robust Publisher node.
