How to decrypt query statement from QLIK Replicate Log file?

When QLIK task encountered error, the SQL query statement is encrypted. Is very troublesome where need to login to remote server to decrypt the Query statement.

How should we made this in local machine to decrypt the query statement without install any software? Can we do map folder to server and run the encryption repctl dumplog in local laptop without install software?

Thanks.

Hello @tanhanyan ,

BTW, the decryption can be done in any Replicate Server, you may copy the task log file and the corresponding "log.key" file to another server (it's better the Replicate Major Version number as same), does not matter the platform (eg Windows, or Linux).

And I'm checking for you if there is a FR about turn it off. Will keep you posted.

Regards,

John.

We only having 1 replicate server, so is it A MUST to install QlikReplicate to local laptop? Copy the log.key to run the command repctl dumplog in own PC?

Hello @tanhanyan ,

Yes, we need install Qlik Replicate on a local laptop and run the decryption on it. Please be noted that the decrypted task log may contain sensitive data, be careful the data leakage.

BTW, we got the Feature Request Allow option to disable log encryption in Qlik replicate - Give customer the choice. We will look into the FR and get back to you with the most update information.

John.

Hello @tanhanyan ,

I've confirmed that the FR was delivered. There is a chance to disable the Log Encryption in Qlik Replicate, from version (includes) 2023.5 GA release. If you are running Qlik Replicate 2023.5 and 2023.11 (or up) then we may add an parameter to disable it.

I'm editing an aticle to show you how to turn the Log Encryption Off. Will share the link to you later.

Regards,

John.
