Sending 50+ Emails, and recovering if automation fails at 50% ?

I thought this would be an easy task, but it seems more convoluted, perhaps in part to the un-googleabilty of the term 'Qlik Automation'.

Trying to find anything will return any posts from the last 15 years and pretty non-specific .

So  -  the problem  -  I have an application, it has 200+ emails, I'd like to automate sending a 1 page PDF report to those 200+ addresses.

So far I have tried

1 :  Sending  200+ emails   (reports filtered for each ) -   automations runs out of memory (????)

2 : Sending the same emails in batches of  50 +    ( Runs  70% of the time, fails 30% with a time-out  )

Is automations NOT configured to perform these kinds of tasks?

Has anyone managed this, particularly to get it running without running out of memory, and possibly, given the proclivity for the automations to give-up-the-ghost 1/2 way in,  a way to record the current iteration of the loop, and continue the automation from the point where it failed?

Hello @110 ,

To get more limited Goole search results you could make the quoted search term even more specified such as this: "qlik application automation".
It's also possible to search the forum and filter the search results based on Board, Labels and such.

There is an article that is related to out of memory errors in automations that includes best practices: https://community.qlik.com/t5/Official-Support-Articles/How-to-deal-with-Out-of-Memory-errors-in-an-...
The maximum memory consumption for an automation run is 256 MB.

I assume you are familiar with the article "How to send a bursted report using Qlik Application Automation": https://community.qlik.com/t5/Official-Support-Articles/How-to-send-a-bursted-report-using-Qlik-Appl...
Perhaps you even used the template "Send a bursted report to email recipients from an Excel file", or did you set up something different?
What is the files size of these reports? How large are they when it comes to number of fields, physical dimensions, number of pages and such? Could any of this be reduced? Are there any graphics included?

There are some limitations that applies to reports. See https://youtu.be/t7tLqbWVWc8?t=869 or https://help.qlik.com/en-US/cloud-services/Subsystems/Hub/Content/Sense_Hub/Reporting/Reporting-serv...

Hi @J_Lindberg , thanks for the response.     It's a single page PDF.

What's the 256mb  limit pertain to?  Is that cumulative, I.E.   200+ 2mb reports will cause the automation to break ?

I think from what I've read in your links ( maintaining distribution lists in Excel, a lot of additional  configuration to include variables etc )    - I'll explore other options . Thanks again for the response.  Hopefully in time this will continue to be developed, perhaps in conjunction with the natural language models for the on-demand apps etc, so the automations are more accessible to non-technical users to confiugure .

Hello @110 ,
The memory consumption would be during the run (https://help.qlik.com/en-US/cloud-services/Subsystems/Hub/Content/Sense_QlikAutomation/introduction/...).

Could you share the automation with us? You could remove inputs, but it would be good to understand the flow. For example, do you use some list block in a loop? In that case perhaps you might be caching the output (in blocks settings)? It would also be good to learn which connector you are using for sending the emails.
