Qlik Connect 2024! Seize endless possibilities! LEARN MORE
QlikProductUpdates

Qlik now offers capacity-based pricing and packaging for Qlik Analytics - building upon the rollout of the Data Integration capacity model in Q2. Starting today, our customers can select a pricing tier that best suits their needs around data movement and data analysis.

What does this mean for you?

Capacity pricing removes restrictions around data sources and users, allowing for greater value around data loading and analysis. This new pricing model uses Data as the primary value metric and is designed to empower you to better leverage your accessible data sets and support more analytics use cases with the use of AutoML and GenAI capabilities in Qlik Cloud. The structure of our new model is based on extensive market research and customer feedback, with the goal of providing greater flexibility and predictability when using Qlik Cloud. You can now subscribe to pre-defined data packs at a fixed monthly cost while making it easier to adopt the full set of cloud capabilities. All of this, with embedded telemetry, organizations can understand and monitor their data usage.

Capacity pricing offers the following benefits:

  • Simplified pricing with data as the primary value metric that is aligned with customer needs and ease of doing business with Qlik
  • Expand user access to support more analytics use cases within your organization
  • Drive Capability Adoption: access to key cloud capabilities and platform value drivers for faster time-to-value
  • Provide Data Usage Transparency: insights into data utilization and telemetry within Qlik Cloud

What are the new pricing tiers?

Understand the details of Qlik’s capacity pricing and packaging options on a new pricing page on Qlik.com showing the list prices of each plan. New customers can choose from three distinct plans when doing business with Qlik: Standard, Premium, and Enterprise. And existing customers can move to the new pricing model on their own timeline and can decide what tier is best for their needs.  Work with your account team to explore migration to this capacity model.

Hello,

This business model is great !

It could be difficult to estimate the amount of data analyzed or moved, is the application "Data capacity Detailled application" will be available for the old model ?

For example, I have an application with 3 levels, Extract - Transfom - Analyze

1. I extract data from S3 source and store QVD on S3, QVD are stored by month, so I extract only the last month.

2. I load the last month QVD from S3, create the model and store it on S3, also by month

3. In the last level I load all my QVD from S3

Imagine the application contains month QVD with a size of 100 Mo and I have 12 QVD, what is the volume of data moved each days ? and what is the volume of data analyzed ?

Thanks !

I agree with the previous comment, it's a great step forward. However, it would be really useful when trying to move existing SaaS clients to this model if we could have access to an equivalent app that shows their current data metrics. We can then ensure we are giving them the right advice. Is that available or going to be available soon?

I'm genuinely excited about this new capacity-based pricing model. I believe it presents significant opportunities for many organizations, including ours. However, echoing the sentiments shared by others, it's absolutely vital for us to have immediate insights into our current data usage. Having a comprehensive understanding of our existing data metrics will allow us to transition seamlessly and set clear expectations.

I urge Qlik to provide tools or applications that can offer these insights. This will not only aid in our decision-making but also bolster confidence in adopting this new pricing model.

Thank you.

@StefanBackstrand  It should be included with capacity based subscriptions. Check here for details:

I think this is misleading "pre-defined data packs at a fixed monthly cost" - from what I read on pricing webpage, it is billed annually.  Any idea when the product metrics/legal term docs will be updated?

Have I understood correctly,
@QlikProductUpdates ?

The Data Analyzed is measured as the file size of all data files stored in qlik cloud + The size of all data loaded from externa sources? So that if you use Qlik CLoud Integration to load the data file into qlik cloud, you only pay for the file size?  How is the size of data loaded into Qlik Cloud Analytics measured?

@E_Røse Data Integration counts Data Moved. So there are two metrics: Moved and Analyzed.

@StefanBackstrand in the product-description-for-qlik-cloud-subscriptions it says that
"Data Moved also does not include the movement of data into Qlik
Cloud for analytics purposes".

Is that only refering to data moved with  Qlik Cloud Analytics?
