Using ChatGPT to create Qlik Sense script

Everyone has heard about ChatGPT by now.

It's usually mentioned in the context of written texts and it does excel there, both when it comes to understanding text and creating new texts from free-form text instructions.

People have also used ChatGPT to enhance their programming and development workflows, but mainly then using major languages like Javascript, Python etc.
That works surprisingly well, at least for small(ish) code snippets.

But does ChatGPT work with Qlik?
Does it speak Qlik script?

I have played around with this during past few days and the answer is yes - and no.
Concrete examples and learnings available over at https://ptarmiganlabs.com/using-chatgpt-to-create-qlik-sense-scripts.

Enjoy!

I have tried ChatGPT for Qlikscript to test out a few things, but for me it is wildly different what results I got.

sometimes I got just plain SQL script with some modifications that look a bit like Qlik script and sometimes I got some great Qlik Script.

for me it depends on what I asked ChatGPT.

Quick note this was on ChatGPT 3.0 (or 3.5) not the newest version

Agreed. I find that I get rather different results even when I enter exactly the same question. I suspect it has to do with what I have talked with ChatGPT about earlier in that session, i.e. context.

ChatGPT - the Shakespeare of coding. It conquers languages like a linguistic superhero—JavaScript, Python, and now, the mysterious Qlik script. It's a linguistic gymnast, flipping through syntax like a caffeinated acrobat. So, does ChatGPT speak Qlik? Yes, but it's a polyglot with commitment issues. Check out the love story at ptarmiganlabs.com – where ChatGPT flirts with Qlik Sense, leaving us all in a scriptastic cliffhanger. Göran, signing off with Qlik and awe.
