SAN storage for shared data store in Qlik sense server?

Hi,

We need to implement a SAN storage for our PROD so that another server can take over if it is down.

We want both the servers to access the same data share.

Is having the data share on a SAN the best option?

DID anyone implement SAN for qlik sense? Could you please tell me the best approach for this?

Hi @Karthik3

Using a SAN should not present any problems, provided you can access locations on the SAN using a UNC path then all should be fine.

The only thing to watch is latency, which could slow down reloads. If you have reloads you need to be quick and frequent you may want to use a local drive for those and then have a separate app which runs to pick up data from the local drive and drops it in the appropriate location on the SAN.

If access speed for the SAN is good and reload times are acceptable then this extra step would not be required.

Thanks Steve for your reply.

Are there any other considerations to take other than keeping  the fileshare onto SAN?

ex:- Like Postgre database also need to shared so have postgre db on a separate server or the same SAN as fileshare?

If PROD cluster is down, we want the other Cluster to be running like prod in less than 15 minutes.
