How to setup Qlik Analytics Platform (QAP)

Hi All,

I am finding it really difficult to obtain reliable information on how I can install QAP and the steps that are needed to successfully implement.

I have some questions, after receiving an activation license, how do I go about installing this product on a server.

1. Do I download Qlik Sense Enterprise for Windows and follow the same steps to setup?

2. Is QAP activated as a subset of QSE after I activate the license?

3. The QSE that I use to create the apps I will import into QAP, does there need to be any connection between these two or can they be completely separated? (DMZ for QAP)

4. How can I verify if my installation of QAP is successful since there is no hub? 

5. Can you please point me to any documentation where the installation steps and security configuration is mentioned.  Maybe even some examples on how I can embed the objects in an external site.

Hi @byronvwnl  Qlik Analytical Platform is nothing but the Qlik Sense only. The features gets enable and disable as per the license key.

So there is no separate executable also for QAP, it is same as Qlik Sense.

Hi Chetan,

Thanks I presummed as much but wanted to confirm. Since users will be anonymous, do I follow the standard guide for anonymous user configuration (Anonymous authentication | Qlik Sense for administrators Help), or are these other considerations I should be aware of?

I read in a couple of places that QAP requires a QSE to be installed on another server? Is this true? Reason I ask is that we want to migrate to Qlik Cloud this year. If QAP requires a QVF for the app and QVDS for the data, then I can export these from Qlik Cloud and my QAP should work fine?

Another reason we are considering keeping QAP as opposed to using a tenant in Qlik Cloud for anonymous users is that with the capacity based model, anonymous users is not possible under the basic/free users.

Byronvwnl we do something similar to what you are describing for the same reasons you are describing. 

The way we do it, is the apps are created and reloaded on the Enterprise/SAAS/QCG platform.   Then, the apps / mashups are deployed to the QAP on a schedule. we don't do reloads on the QAP, we just push the qvfs and mashup files to the QAP on a schedule.
