Hello,
How can i create new variables from mapping existing variable names ? i have a table in an excel sheet 'customer' containing column names. I want to use the column names to map to the excel sheet 'mapping'.
I am expecting on QlikSense to create new fields from mapping file : customer_type, loyal_yes_no, loyality_years. that must be mapped to the excel sheet customer.
Please see attached exelsheets for further clarification
Many thanks
Can anyone Help?
Can you provide the desired output, not sure how it should be
Do you see the attribute field in the mapping sheet? this field represents all field names in the excel sheet customer.
What i want to achieve is to map the field names in customer excel with the 'attribute' field in the mapping excel.
So i can create the new fields
customer_type | loyal_yes_no | loyality_years |
I want my data to be dynamic and connected with the mapping file.
So i can for example create a pie graph that has the slices: VIP, loyal, regular , new.
Many thanks
can any one help?
I'm not too sure what exactly you're asking but I think you're either looking for applymap and/or possibly cross table (given that you want your pie graph to display the different categories of customers). Hard to tell without a sample provided.
Hello,
What i would like to achieve is a new field that has the same name of the attributes or a name to categorize the attributes.
I have a table with attribute names that have data and the categories in the map field.
I did try apply map but the logic for it doesn't match my needs. Creating new variables based on existing variables
