value '--SELECT--' inside an input variable

Hi everyone! I am creating an input variable which allows me to change the information shown in a line chart. I have created 3 entries for this input and it is displayed as 'Drop-down'. The problem is that whenever I open this drop-down, appart from the 3 entries created, there is another value whose label is '--SELECT--', but I want to avoid it.

Anyone knows which is the problem?

Thanks in advance!

We have also observed this, and it seems to be a new feature by Qlik.

Couldnt find any documentation so far, even to disable it.

@Sonja_Bauernfeind  can you please help us - if there's any documentation on the upgrade / update of the Qlik Variable Input chart  (Qlik Sense May 2023 patch 5)

Thanks

Hi! Thank you for your answer.

Do you know how this feature works? I mean, what can you do with this '--SELECT--' value?

This extension is an Open Source extension that is used with the bundle package. https://github.com/qlik-oss/qsVariable.
You can see here where the change was made: https://github.com/qlik-oss/qsVariable/pull/33

This was based on the mentioned defect: QB-18884, see https://community.qlik.com/t5/Release-Notes/Sense-Enterprise-on-Windows-Release-Notes-August-2023-In...

This recent Quality of Life change is quite unfortunate.

Users initially had the option to generate this same placeholder dummy variable '--SELECT--' to prevent encountering this particular "bug." However, in attempting to address the original issue, a new problem has emerged wherein '--SELECT--' now persists even when there are multiple values available.
