    Hello Experts,

    I have data since 2021 in my model.
    I have to create Line Chart by MOnth/Year, the expression of Chart is as based on Running sum of last 12 months as per below.

    ((sum({<DESCRIPTION=,PARTNO=>} [FA_QTY_FUNC] * [AVERAGE_PRICE])
    /
    Rangesum(Above( Sum({<DESCRIPTION=,PARTNO=>}CONSUME_AVG_PRICE_FUNC),0,12)))
    )*365

    now as we have data from 2021 for whole 2021 our expression will not calculate correct running sum of last 12 months. so we want our graph shows only month onwards Jan-2022.

    As soon as i am trying to do so my RangeSum() is considering Jan2022 as First month starts summing value from Jan2022 only. and my calculation starts showing wrong data as per functional requirement.

    Can we have some expression which will give us last 12 month SUM even if we are showing it in Dimension.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello everyone, I would like to discuss this case and I'm sure someone can explain to me why this happens.
    In my following script, table1 is a fact table of data about Activities that actually have happened and table 2 is a  fact able about all activities, including the ones in table1 and more that are announced but haven't happened yet so they cannot be in table1 yet. Dim_team is a dimension table with team details. The cardinality is many to 1 such as an Event_id can only belong to an ID_Activity, but an ID_Activity and can have many Event_ids.  So the question now is: I tried to right join the tables with a composite key "Activity_Key" (because in fact ID_Activity and ID_for_Activity are the same and so are ID_Team and ID_of_Team) so that I can have all data for Activities even when they have nulls in table1.
    The result I'm getting is not what I expected, it gets partial information, doesn't match info as it should.
    A link table saved the day, but I was -and still am- very confused about that.

    dim_team:

    LOAD ID_Team,
          Team_Name
          Team_Code
    FROM [$(vPathQVD)team.qvd]
    (qvd);

    //
    LOAD
        "Event_id",
        "ID_Person",
        "ID_Team",
        "ID_Activity",
        "ID_Team"&"ID_Activity" as Activity_Key

    FROM [$(vPathQVD)table1.qvd]
    (qvd);

    right join(fact_table1)
    //fact_table2
    LOAD

        "ID_for_Activity",
        "ID_of_Team",
        "ID_of_Team"&"ID_for_Activity" as Activity_Key,
        "Activity_Name",
        "Participants_Number",
         Date,
         Place

    FROM [$(vPathQVD)Activity.qvd]
    (qvd);

    I could use some help! Thank you 🙂

    Hi,

     I am creating a pivot table where I have a measure which gives a count of ID. I need to to make it a dimension and collapse it so that it shows the count and upon clicking the expand option, I have to see new set of dimensions which will give the data for the count.

    Something like this

    Dim1 count
    ABC 200 ID Name Country
        1 aa A
        2 ab B
        3 bc N

    Hi,

    I have a workflow, where I need to reload massive csvs into some BI tool. Of course, it is much easier to do, if data is compressed into some format or written as RAM dump.

    1st approach (compressed) is used in Qlik and Tableau, qvd and tde respectively.

    2nd approach (RAM dump) is used in Parquet/Arrow (I use it thru Python/Pandas).

    Question - Is there _any_ compressed or RAM optimized format, supported by Power BI?

    I mean, free easymorph can read qvd and tde (Tableau), but Power BI can't?

    Free python/pandas can read/write RAM optimized files, but Power BI can't?

    xlsb (binary Excel) is great, but Power BI is extremely slow with it, even it is the MSFT technology.

    Also, Power Bi desktop can't read another pbix (at least I don't know how to do this).

    Any suggestions? Thanks!

    Hi,

    I want to look at the log files to investigate what is causing our Tasks stuck in running status.

    In Nprinting, Admin tab-->Task Executions-->Task-->Log--->The log doesn't give any information about what is happening in the background.

    I see there are various logs in ProgramData folder such as nprinting_engine, nprinting_manager, nprinting_scheduler etc, but when i search the content of the logs based on Task ID, none of them give any result.

    Life was easy with nprinting v16 logs,

    Could you help me how which log contain the information about the task and what is causing the running status issue.

    Thanks

    I have two Q VD files (table1, table2) with the same column names, and I would like to append them into a single table called "final_table". The append operation should only occur when the primary keys do not match from both tables. However, with the current code, I am only seeing IDs from table1 appear, and IDs from table2 are not being included.

    I would appreciate your guidance in resolving this issue.

    LOAD *
    From table1;
    Concatenate LOAD * FROM table2
    WHERE NOT Exists(id);

    script snippet explanation

    Hi all! Can you help me understand this code bit?

    Load Key,
         date(SubField(Key,'|',1)) as CanonicalDate,
         'IssueDate' as DateType;
    Load FieldValue('Key',RecNo()) as Key
    AutoGenerate FieldValueCount('Key');

    Going upwards; The first LOAD statement  ( Load FieldValue... Autogenerate...)  loads Key from AutoGenerate clause.

    Now the second (topmost) Load is a preceding load to the other one. I get it.

    But this doesn't mean that the Load FieldValue... Autogenerate.. bit should work on its own ?

    I found out it doesn't when trying to break down the code.

    Why is that?

    Thank you in advance 🙂
