qlikview access point access

Hello!

How do i set qlikview access so e.g TJE can see his doucments in access point, and DRE can see his doucments on accesspoint?

Where do i set that security or add a new member?

I thinking i need to make a new group in QMS somewhere? or ?

Thank ypu

Yes, that's right. This is the most simple case.

In other cases it's useful to have different folders for source and user documents, e.g. if you loop and reduce documents to certain users, or use QlikMarts and a presenataion layer.

It depends on how you control the file Access.

QlikView supports two different methods

NTFS authorization (Windows controls file access)
DMS authorization (QlikView controls file access)

If you use QlikView SBE only NTFS is available. NTFS uses the windows security, so if e.g. TJE can access the file in Windows, he can also access on Accesspoint

I have to use DMS, cause im using web tickets.

So how would you contorl the access in qlikview if i use DMS?

In that case you can give access to certain users/groups from your directories, e.g. AD, when you make a task in QMC.

You do it in the Distribute/Manually tab where you uses the + (Add) button, and chooses Named users in the field UserType.

Im sorry - i dont quite follow you.

If i use DMS, i can use my users from my AD. But where do i add the user in QMC??

I not sure i know where to find distribute/manually tab....

and just to be clear. U dont add the user inside a section access - thats only for accessing the doucment right?

Okay. First you need to add the users to QMC. You do this in QMC --> System \ Setup \ Directoruy Service Connectors. Here you can e.g. ad your AD, or make a custom list.

Adding a tast is done in QMC --> Documents \ Source Documents. From here you choose the relevant document and 'Add task manually'. This makes a new window, from where you can navigate ti Distribute \ Manually.

U could use Section Access, but thats more to be used, if you want to reduce the data access within the same document, e.g. user A has access to all countries, user B only to France

how come my accesspoint is showing doucments from users documents and not source documents?

Anyhow, i found the task and stuff!

But how can i test if i make fake users?

Cause when i press login, it by default logs my in without prompting

I got Hans Otte logged in now - But he is not able to see any documents.

I dont have any documents in source folder, but only in users documents.

What should i do, to make it visable in source document, and showable in access point?

Source documents are set in QMC --> System \ Setup \ Distribution services \ General

Documents available in Access Point are set in QMC --> System \ Setup \ QlikView servers \ Folders

So i should make my accespoint folder the same as sourcedoucments right? Then i will be able to make a task and thereby control who is able to see which documents?
