how to manually input data in straight table in Qlikview?

hi,

i have the data in the straight table which am getting it from the QVD file. But i want to input some more data manually with the

existing data in straight table.

Is it possible to do that in Qlikview?

u can create a new table using INLINE STATMENT and enter the data manually, u cannot directly enter the data through the UI in QV.

Hope that helps

Ok, clarifying my fist reply:

As Swarup said, yes it is possible to insert new data if you are doing it in the Script, by using the LOAD INLINE statement.

But if you want to do it directly through a QV object (like a straight table or a listbox), no it is not possible.

Though I  have never used this (see page 213 of the QV reference manual 9 v )

Starting from version 8, QlikView supports a special

type of field, which indeed can be changed without script execution, the input field.

Any field can be turned into an input field by listing it in an inputfield

statement in the script before it appears in a load or select statement.

Yes, Its possible to input data using Input Field. We discussed it some time back in the below post:

Maybe not directly, but perhaps you may try using a macro, I think it might be possible you use input fields to capture some data in variables, try to make the interface in certain way, that using various inputs might look as a table for the final user.

Then use a macro to create an inline table using this data and store it in a qvd. How ever this data wouldn't reflect anychanges in your qvw until a recharge with the qvd it was just generated.

hope this idea helps.

Hi,

Why do you want to input the data in straight table?

Are you doing some calculations there in the straight table?

Hi we have one option is that:

Dynamic data update, but in order to achieve that we need to enable in the client and server as well. More over on if we want to add data using dynamic data update then user need to be part of qlikview administrators group. !
