Hiding fields in Multibox

I have a multibox and a set of charts. The problem  is when I select Chart1, Multibox should show all the fields(i.e. Accounts,Day, Month and Year). But as soon as I open/select Chart2/Chart3, the Multibox should exclude Accounts field from there and should show only Day, Month and Year.

Any Idea how to do this using Trigger/Macros?

PFA the sample attached.'

Hi

I do not think you are able to exclude the Accounts field from the Multibox.

But you can use triggers to Lock the Accounts field (when you open Chart2/3) so it cannot be changed. If this helps, you might need to remember that the field might also need to be Unlocked at some stage.

This is not helping me. I think the only way to do this is using macros. But I am not getting it all right

OK, sorry. Did the trigger not help ?

I have no experience of macros, I'm afraid.

Hi

You can achieve the functionality using 2 separate multi-boxes. Create a variable and use it for show/hide condition. Create actions on charts  that will modify the value of variable , there by enabling show/hide feature for account no. Please refer to the attached file for the implementation.

That sounds a nice solution !

Hi Pauljin,

Thanks for looking into it. Yes it works but fine but in the process if we just click on other charts(single click), the value of variable change( I understand this as the trigger is based on "OnActive" state and if we just even click once, the charts get activated). So I was looking for some solution using macros which can identify the minimize/maximire state for charts and accrodingly set the value for variables.

For now, I will go ahead with this solution but will look for more stable solution.

Thanks a lot.

Hi Sharma,

Please see the attached application if this is the solution that your looking for. Basically, I just revised Pauljin's file and added some macros and buttons. The macro that I include is that it activates the Chart object and Restore it. And the button has the Action to run that macro and also to hide the restored chart.

Just a tip if you will implement this:

Take note of the Layer of button and the chart.. The layer of the button should be higher than of thte Chart..

Lester
