Yesterday we made a patch update to the June 2018 Release, which has a few modifications including some security updates to the Google Drive & Spreadsheets Connector.

This is available through the Qlik download site, along with it's release notes.

The Qlik Web Connectors June 2018 Release (2.44) is now available on the Qlik.com download page (you need to be logged in to Qlik.com)

Along with a number of general improvements, this version has 2 beta connectors which are now generally available:

  • Qlik Amazon S3 Connector, which is a free to use Standard Connector, and
  • Qlik O365 for Sharepoint Connector, which is a Premium Connector and so will require a subscription for it's continued use.

If you're using Qlik Web Connectors November 2017 (or any of its patches) and either any beta connectors or standard connectors, please read the note towards the end of this post about upgrading.

In this release there are no new beta connectors.

If you are a Sense customer with the new Professional/Analyzer model, which includes access to all the Qlik Web Connectors, then you can now enter your Sense LEF within QWC to unlock the Premium connectors.

The QWC's MongoDB and Google BigQuery connectors have been moved into a deprecated state, because an integrated ODBC version of these connectors are now available in the Qlik platforms. Don't worry they aren't being removed immediately, but if you use these then you should consider migrating as soon as possible.

Current Users of Beta Connectors or Only Standard Connectors

As a reminder, if you are using Qlik Web Connectors November Release and either:

  • any Beta Connectors or
  • any Standard Connectors WITHOUT any Premium Connectors enabled

then these will expire on 30-Nov-2018, so you must upgrade to the new June 2018 Release (2.44.0) version before the end of November.

The new expiry date in the June 2018 Release will be 31-Mar-2019. We also maintain a schedule here.

See here for help on upgrading.

Please see the release notes, also on the download site, for full details.

Help can be found here:

http://help.qlik.com/en-US/connectors/Subsystems/Web_Connectors_help/Content/Setup-deploy/Qlik_Web_Connectors_package.htm

We hope you continue to enjoy using the Qlik Web Connectors and please join the new community group, where you can provide us with feedback on the product, any of the connectors, seek assistance with the beta connectors or exchange ideas and solutions with other users.

Thanks

Qlik customers and partners are invited to join the Qlik NPrinting June 2018 Technical Preview.

The Qlik NPrinting June 2018 Preview includes new features like:

• Sense Pivot Table support

Qlik NPrinting supports pivot tables as objects from Qlik Sense connections, the same as QlikView connections. There are some features and behaviors that are not supported:

• Partial expansion of rows and columns

• Foreground colors and background colors

• Hyperlinks (will display as plain text)

• Expanding or shrinking the size of the table.

The desired pivot table size must be saved in the Qlik Sense app, before you open the report in Qlik NPrinting Designer. If you change the size or layout of the table in Qlik Sense, you will need to reload your Qlik Sense connection cache in Qlik NPrinting.

• New versioning system

Qlik NPrinting has a new versioning system that complies with the company standard. This new feature makes the upgrade procedure easier to maintain.

• Monthly and yearly schedule

Time-based triggers now allow the creation of monthly or yearly schedules. This feature removes a gap between Qlik NPrinting 16 and 17+.

Please use the  Qlik Nprinting June 2018 community to give your feedback on this new release.

If you have any question or have issues accessing the communities please send an email to insight@qlik.com.

Read What's new for more information.

The Qlik NPrinting April 2018 Preview includes new features like:

  • SAML authentication

Qlik NPrinting supports Single Sign-On (SSO) by using SAML. SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language) is an open standard for exchanging authentication and authorization data between parties, in particular, between an identity provider (IdP) and a service provider (SP). Based on XML the most important user case is with Web Browser Single Sign-On. Both Qlik NPrinting Web Console and NewsStand can be configured to manage SAML authentication.

  • Filter and content node response management

Qlik NPrinting filtering system is improved and it is now able to manage many errors that appeared with messages like "Wrong content node response" or "Apply empty response". Static empty content or invalid selections will be managed without errors.

In this release no connectors were moved from a beta state to either Premium or Standard Connectors.

Some multi-source connectors have been split into individual connector, so for example in previous versions of the Qlik Web Connectors we had the Premium Qlik Sentiment and Text Analytics Connector, which required a subscription and corresponding LEF.

  • Qlik Sentiment140 Connector

The Qlik RegEx Connector is now a free, Standard Connector

The following connectors have been split out but also deprecated:

  • Qlik Alchemy Connector
    • This has been replaced by the Qlik Watson Natural Language Understanding Connector
  • Qlik Saplo Connector

Other connectors that have been split out are the AYLIEN Connector and Mailbox Connector.

The Qlik script that has been generated using these previous connectors may need to be modified. Please refer to the Release Notes, for more information.

Current Users of Beta Connectors or Only Standard Connectors

As a reminder, if you are using Qlik Web Connectors 2.2.0 and either:

  • any Beta Connectors or
  • any Standard Connectors WITHOUT any Premium Connectors enabled

then these will expire on 31-Jan-2018, so you must upgrade to the new November 2017 Release (2.28.2) version as soon as possible.

The new expiry date in the November 2017 Release will be 30-Nov-2018.We also maintain a schedule here.

Qlik customers & partners are invited to join the Qlik NPrinting February 2018 Technical Preview. This Preview includes some improvements, bug fixes and the following new capabilities:

  • Single Sign On support with JSON Web Token (JWT) authentication

Qlik NPrinting log in supports JSON Web Token (JWT) authentication. JSON Web Token (JWT) is an open standard for secure transmission of information between two parties used for authentication and authorization. JWT enables single sign-on (SSO) in Qlik NPrinting, so it minimizes the number of times a user has to log on to cloud applications and websites.

  • QlikView server DMS authorization is supported

Qlik NPrinting connections to QlikView Server now supports DMS authentication. Section access can be integrated easily with Qlik NPrinting without the need of other actions and Qlik NPrinting On-Demand plugin works for Access Point users authenticated with DMS credentials.

Qlik customers & partners are invited to join the Qlik NPrinting November 2017 Technical Preview. This Preview includes some improvements, bug fixes and the following new capabilities:

Embed HTML and QlikEntity report into email bodies

You can embed HTML and QlikEntity reports directly into email bodies. Recipients will be able to see your data directly, without having to download and open an attachment.

Configurable image quality APIs status changed to Stable

You can change the image quality of Qlik Sense and QlikView objects by adjusting their dots per inch (DPI) in your published reports. This means you could create, for example, a PowerPoint report with high-quality images (that will look good on a large screen), and a second version with lower-quality images (and a smaller file size) to be shared by email. This feature covers a gap with QlikView NPrinting 16.

APIs status changed to Stable

Qlik NPrinting APIs, all available APIs, status is changed from experimental to stable. This means that Qlik NPrinting APIs are highly

reliable and breaking changes are extremely unlikely. The deprecation period is six months.

Microsoft Windows 2016 Server is supported

Microsoft Windows 2016 Server is now officially supported. You can install Qlik NPrinting Server, Engine, and Designer on Windows 2016 computers.
