Release Preview of Qlik Sense 2.0 is now available to customers and partners.

Qlik Sense 2.0 is largely focused on the data and how to better access and make use of it. This includes new data sources, new ways to integrate and prepare data, new representations of large data sets in visuals, new ways to share data, and new connectors.

With this release there are significant number of new enhancements to the Qlik platform including:

Qlik DataMarket – A comprehensive library of data made accessible from directly within Qlik Sense, offered as a service, allowing you to easily augment your data to drive deeper insights. Both free and paid data sources will be available.
Smart Data Load – A new visual data profiling and modeling capability that makes it easier to integrate data from multiple sources without the need for scripting.
Smart Data Representation – New advanced algorithms in scatter plots that allow summarization of billions of data points without losing patterns and meaning in the data.
Print and Export – The ability to print and export objects to PDF or image files.
Additional Enhancements – Such as improved suggestion and ranking in smart search, search within context (current selection), mobile search, new connectors, and other features.

There is a known security vulnerability in QlikView Server which is fixed in version 11.20 SR12. More detailed information about the security vulnerability is available in the customer and partner portal Knowledgebase SB article number 000007272*. All customers should investigate the vulnerability in their deployment environment to determine their own level of exposure and path forward. Qlik recommends all QlikView Server users upgrade to 11.20 SR12.

We have today made available on our download site the latest version of our SAP Certified connector. v6.0

 

This is primarily a release containing bug fixes, and also represents our renewed certification from SAP which now is valid until 18th May 2018.

 

Bug fixes include:

 

SQL Connector

 Now possible to combine a SELECT COUNT statement with select of field name(s).

 

BEx Connector

 Now possible to run multiple load statements using only one connection string.

 The Server Type ‘Message Server’ in the connection dialog will now be possible to use without problems. Please also read about a related problem under ‘Important information’ below.

 

Others

 In the application ReLoadSAPDD.qvw for the ScriptBuilder there was an issue with the parsing of the select statement of the table DD03L. It caused the application to “freeze”. It occurred in connection with changes of the SQL connector in release 5.80 SR4. It is now fixed.

 

General

 Release 5.30 will no longer be supported and not possible to download.

 SAP transports for SAP basis below 6.40 will not be provided.

 v6.00 and higher will only support 64bit windows platforms for installation.

 

From v6.0 onward we intend on only supporting 64bit versions of our SAP connector.

The first Service Release on the QlikView NPrinting 16 is now available to existing customers and partners.

 

Some of the highlights of the release are:

  • QlikView 11.20 SR10 officially supported
  • Reference to the Features Track removed
  • Removed the possibility to insert period characters in Formula’s names
  • Cycled PowerPoint slides are not created if empty
  • Setup allow license activation in silent mode

The fourth Service Release on the Qlik Sense Service Release track is now available to existing customers and partners.

 

Qlik Sense 1.0.4 contains only bug fixes and there are no new features included in this release.

This Service release contains more than 250 bug fixes and some improved functionality:

 

• QVS stability

A number of improvements have been made and several bugs have been fixed regarding QVS stability, both in single and clustered environments. The improvements will be most noticeable in high-pressure clustered scenarios.

• QDS improvements

A number of improvements have been done regarding QDS reliability in clustered environments. We recommend all customers with clustered QDS environments to upgrade.

• Support for Internet Explorer Touch

Touch mode on tablets or hybrid computers with Internet Explorer should now have the same functionality as Safari and Chrome.

• Direct Discovery Sub queries

Additional capability has been added in the cases where more than one table/view within the application is in Direct Discovery mode.  A new Set statement can be used, see Release Notes for details.

• Possibility to turnoff “Execute” command in Publisher

As a security feature, it is now possible to turn off the ability to use “Execute” command in a script. See Release Notes for details.

• New API call for load balancing in QVS cluster

The new method allows the caller to find the address of the QVS that currently is most suitable for opening the specified document according to the load balancing settings of the given QV Web Server. This is to be used when building solutions that is not going through the AccessPoint.

 

Change of behaviour:

As a result of fixing bug 69228 “Syntax checker not working”, syntax error messages in object expressions are now returned to objects instead of returned as NULL. See Release Notes for details.

QlikView version 11.20 Service Release 11 Beta is now available to existing customers and partners.

 

This Service release contains more than 250 bug fixes and some improved functionality:

The latest release of our SAP connector package for QlikView is now available to download.

 

The 5.90 release includes a number of enhancements including:

 

  • Brand new connector for SAP BEx queries
    • Dramatically enhanced performance over the OLAP connector when extracting BEx queries
    • Support for more complex queries
  • Extractor Connector:
    • Now possible to create up to 140 different logical systems
    • Improved Handling of 'Logon Groups'
  • Query Connector:
    • Now possible to limit the number of displayed queries
  • Number of bug fixes

QlikView for iOS 8 native app Beta is now available to existing customers and partners. Existing customers and partners who want to try out the Beta, please express your interest by sending email to irena.calovska@qlik.com or QlikViewBeta@qlik.com.

 

With this release we have fixed:

- Network Communication iOS 8 Compatibility issues

- Issues with Russian, Chinese, Japanese and other characters in documents

- Issues with Login prompts when using different Authentication Methods

- Several Crash issues

- Issue with Charts not loading in offline views

- Issues when downloading items in containers

- Issue with Listbox values not downloading the proper amount of rows

- Issues with Excel Exports

 

Note: Latest version of the offline Service (SR9) needs to be installed together with the QlikView Server. You can download it here.

QlikView version 11.20 Service Release 9 is now available to existing customers and partners.

 

This release includes 90 bug fixes and the following changes:

  • Supports iOS8.1 with Safari/AJAX use. Due to several issues in iOS8.0, this will not be supported. Our native iOS apps are currently being adapted for iOS8.
