how to mapped folder on QV Server?

Hi,

How can  I set up a mapped folder on Qlikview Server that would point to say  SharNet (Sharenet is a place where I have my files saved).

This would be needed on the account used for reloading the Qlikview documents and also if possible to be visible to other users logged through RDC . This is needed in order to be able to load data from files available in ShareNet.

BR,

Anta

So we need to mapped the drive on server the same way we normally do. I.e.

My Computers--> Tool--> Map network drive--> Select the drive and folder(path of folder) --> Pass your ID n password and then done.

Hi Anta,

Or just use the network path, \\servername\share\folder\ as the mounted folder. Inside the QVS settings, Folders, of the QMC, you may add mounted folders that you can use for this very purpose.

Anta, it´s not recommended to use maped networkdrives.

This cause the possiblity that it goes "offline" when not logged on to the computer.

What Rob/Qlik recommend is to use network shares, and add these as unc paths

\\mynetworkshare\myshare\myfolder

Just make sure that the service account running QlikView services has rights to the share

Hi Andreas,

Thanks for the details ! but I am not getting you .

" What Rob/Qlik recommend is to use network shares, and add these as unc paths

I want to access few files which are stored to some other place say on some portal hence I need to mapped it.

Hello Anta,

Do you mean some other QlikView Server? Or some third party portal solution?

What we are referring to is a shared network folder that is accessible within the same domain.

Regards,

Erik
