We are excited to introduce tabular reporting from Qlik Cloud. Now customers can address common, centrally managed, tabular report distribution requirements from within a Qlik Sense Application! With tabular reporting, report developers can create custom and highly formatted XLS documents from Qlik data and Qlik visualizations; Governed Report Tasks can burst reports to any stakeholder, ensuring that the Qlik platform is the source for operational decisions, customer communications and more.

Some feature highlights:

  • Report template creation, using data and visualizations from a Qlik Sense App, all with the familiarity of Microsoft Office 365 using Add-in technology
  • Qlik Cloud governed report task control from within a Qlik Sense App
  • In app distribution list management to support burst report distribution to any stakeholder (internal or external)
  • Execution of Qlik NPrinting authored XLS report templates uploaded to Qlik Cloud
  • Powered by the Qlik Reporting Service, reports are delivered from a scalable cloud service that solves complex enterprise reporting jobs

Want to get started with your first Tabular Report?

Access our Getting Started section in your Qlik Cloud app (available for users with Can Edit permissions). Open your app, (a) choose your activity, and select (b) Reporting.

Hello @MaryseC

The supported Excel versions and platform requirements are documented in Microsoft Excel version requirements | Qlik Cloud.

As for your question about Google Suite, I recommend logging an idea in our ideation portal to express your interest in the expansion of the tabular reporting solution.

All the best,
Sonja

Great news,

but I can't find in the help area something regarding NPrinting. What do you mean with:

  • To access the Qlik NPrinting Technical Preview

Is this still under development?

Best regards

Martin

For context, now that there is a Technical Preview for NPrinting February 2024 (link), that reference makes more sense!

It's really incredible that we can customize Excel reports with Qlik, I loved this new functionality.

This goes down as another one of those "That sounds nice, but is it coming to Enterprise?" features, so - is it coming to Enterprise? Seems like a natural fit considering Qlik wouldn't have to manage the number of calls we make if everything is On-Premise.

A few clarification points as well:

1) Is this meant for users or developers? Near as I can tell based on reading the documentation, it's for developers, but the In-60 video makes it sound like it's for users. If it requires the ability to edit apps, it's obviously for developers...

2) The following objects are not supported in report templates: "Charts with these hypercubes types: Tree, Pivot, or Stacked" - is this expected to be a permanent limitation? It is quite, well, limiting...

3) In the NPrinting Technical Preview, it is stated that Third-party extensions are not supported. Is this true for Tabular Reporting in general? If so, this is a limitation that would make the product significantly less useful for many implementations and scenarios, so I'm hoping that's not the case.
