Qlik Replicate encrypt specific fields with AES256

We have a security requirement to keep confidential information encrypted in all new systems.

The legacy source DB2 has a column with the confidential data. It is not encrypted due its legacy nature. But it must be encrypted in all new systems. As we are working on replicating this table using Qlik Replicate we'd like to have a transformation function that will allow us apply AES256 encryption for this column during replication transformation. The volume of changes in this table is relatively low and performance is not a significant concern.

There are a few option to extend SQLite to support encryption https://stackoverflow.com/questions/5669905/sqlite-with-encryption-password-protection and add it to Replicate as UDF. But we don't have capacity to build and support it in our team.

Hi - Thanks for the request. We have many customers that leverage the Global Transformation feature in Replicate with a UDF (user defined function). Some customer leverage the UDF and make a call out to third party encryption tools such as VoltageDB and Protegrity.  This could be a great option for you.

Hi,

Thank you for the suggestion. It is definitely an option. But I think it looks to me that this requirement is quite important these days as more privacy related legislations gets adopted. It will be really great if it will be a native Qlik Replicate function.
